Analysis of the Factors leading to Severe Acute Maternal Morbidity and Maternal Mortality during COVID 19 Pandemic

Aims: To determine prevalence, causes and factors leading to severe acute maternal morbidity mortality during COVID 19 pandemic.
 Methods: The was a cross sectional observational study conducted in the department of Obstetrics Gynaecology Manipal teaching hospital from March 2020 February 2022 amid pandemic. Women who sustained (according World health organization organ system criteria) deaths pregnancy, labour six weeks postpartum were included. Maternal characteristics, total live births, pregnancy outcome, noted. acquisitioned data analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences version 21.
 Results: There 37 cases 2 deaths. ratio 9.4 per 1000 births 51 100,000 births. Therefore, 18.5:1 index 5.1%. Haematological coagulation (45.9%) neurological (29.7%) common systems involved. Hypertensive disorders (40.5%) haemorrhage (32.4%) main morbidity. Both occurred due eclampsia. no or infection pregnancy. Delay seeking reaching centre (65%) major delay mortality.
 Conclusions: Indices pandemic not worse compared those prior Primary care factor
